The Downhome Blues Review is an acoustic music show featuring two of the north island's best known acts. Mike Garner and long time percussion partner, Warren Houston, join forces with Derek Jacombs, Nigel Masters and Grant Bullot from Kokomo.

The act features double bass, washboard, guitars, resonators, harmonica, mandolin and banjo. The Downhom Blues Review show includes old time blues, jug band songs, rag time, much of it encouraging audience participation. Featuring, as it does, two of the country's most prolific songwriters, the show also features a swag of original songs. Both Derek Jacombs and Mike Garner have a string of songwriting credits behind them.

During the Rotorua Blues Festival 2011, they were joined by headliner Doug MacLeod for a final song - see this YouTube clip:
